This
type of behaviour is prolonged episodes of screaming and rage
when parental comforting does not help the child recover his/her
normal composure. This often occurs when children are not
able to obtain instant gratification of their demands. Parents
are often placed under considerable strain and this may encourage
the child to repeat the behaviour more frequently.
Dr
Rundle is very familiar with this behavioural condition as
it can be part of normal development. Advice is given on how
the parent can manage the condition to improve the child's
behaviour.
